Nominate someone for ‘Gamekeeper of the Year’ award

Do you know a great gamekeeper?
If so, why not nominate him or her for the Farmers Weekly/CLA Gamekeeper of the Year Award 2007?
This is a great chance to recognise and reward the hard work of gamekeepers – a profession that often gets overlooked. They are, after all, often unsung heroes.
Whether you’re a gun, an estate manager, a landowner, a beater or a friend, neighbour or relative of the keeper, it’s simple to nominate someone – and they could end up winning a share of £700 in prizes (as well as having the kudos of such a prestigious title). Keepers are also welcome to nominate themselves.
All you need to do is tell us a bit about the keeper. We don’t need masses of information at the nomination stage but the more you can tell us, the better chance the keeper stands of progressing into the next stage of the competition.
There are a variety of good reasons to nominate someone including:
* Winning or being shortlisted for this will look great on the gamekeepers CV
* For the estate owner, having the “Gamekeeper of the Year” adds kudos to your shoot
* £700 of cash prizes on offer
* Free tickets and overnight accommodation at the CLA Game Fair this summer are on offer to the three finalists and their partners
* This competition helps to reward and recognize the hard work done by gamekeepers across the country – something that all-too-often gets overlooked
How to Nominate
Nominations for keepers who have been put forward in other years are welcome, but people who have made it through the final three cannot re-enter.
Give the gamekeeper’s name and contact details, and your own and say why he or she should win the award.
If you do not have a huge amount of information on the keeper or his working practices, just send us as much as you can and we may choose to contact them direct to find out more
What you could win
£400 in cash for the winner and £150 each for both runners-up, plus an engraved hip flask each, tickets for the CLA Game Fair, overnight hotel accommodation for two and dinner with the other finalists. The Award and prizes will be presented at the CLA Game Fair followed by lunch in the Members Enclosure. The finalists will also be profiled in Farmers Weekly.
