RW 2010: Royal Welsh prepares to open its gates

Final preparations are under way for the Royal Welsh Show which will open its gates to the public on Monday morning (19 July).



The show, held near Builth Wells in mid-Wales, attracts over 220,000 visitors each year and its principal aim is to showcase the cream of Welsh livestock and the high quality food and drink produced in Wales.


Competitors from 28 countries will this year compete in the World Shearing and Woolhandling Championship.


Livestock entries total some 8000 horse, cattle sheep and pigs and there will also be over 1000 trade stands.
