2,600gns top at Ross-on-Wye dairy sale

 

Auctioneers Gwilym Richards & Co report an outstanding trade at the June Dairy Sale at Ross-on-Wye Market with a top price of 2,600gns achieved.

 

Taking the highest bid was calved heifer Cotswold Homestead Pearl, a daughter of Bomaz Homestead, from the herd of Richard Robinson of Cheltenham.  She was purchased by Rob Davies of Sandhurst, Glouceter.

 

Phillip Sevenoaks of Llangorse, Brecon, sold two heifers at 2,500gns, both being purchased by David Rees of Crickhowell.  Both were sired by Eppynt Kite and off Penrikka Lambrusco daughters.  The consignment of nine calved heifers from Phillip Sevenoaks averaged ÂŁ2,191.00.  

 

Cows sold to 2,020gns for the 2nd calver Trioak Braveheart Rosebud 2 from Tarver Parke Farms, Worcester.  She was purchased by Robert Jones of Raglan. 

 

A total of 10 calved heifers and cows sold for 2,000gns or more.

 

In-calf heifers sold to 1,850gns paid by G M M & D W Morgan of Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan.  She was one of a consignment of 24 from the Daniels herd of T H Davis & Partners, Blakeney, which averaged ÂŁ1,788.06.

 

Pure-bred heifer calves sold to 380gns, Brown Swiss cross heifer calves to 580gns and Swedish Red cross-breds to 550gns.
