4,200gns peak at Whitland

Bidding peaked at 4200gns when a small entry of pedigree Limousin cattle went under the hammer during the fortnightly store cattle sale at Whitland Livestock Market, Carmarthenshire.

The sale topper came from the May 2003-born Orllwyn Upstart consigned by O J. Jones, Gower, Wales. This Gaulois son was bought by K Tanner, Neath, Glamorgan.

Other leading prices included 1950gns for Treweryll Albert, a June 2005 Ronick Hawk son, from A and D Thomas, Boncath, Dyfed, and selling to J Jenkins, Spittal, Haverfordwest.

In the female section prices peaked at 1280gns twice for August 2005-born Fleethill Amelia and September 2005-born Fleethill Alberta, both Shire Pentagon daughters from M J Gray, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, both heifers were purchased by O Llyr, Ruthin, Clwyd.
