Aberdeen Angus set a steady pace at Perth Bull Sales

The sale of Aberdeen Angus bulls got underway a little earlier at Perth Bull Sales, with a top so far of 10,000gns for four bulls. The first of these was Drumdow Elgar from Willie Brown. By The Moss Passionate, Elgar sold to join Sandy Haggart’s herd.

The second five figure call came from Messrs Muir, Orkney for Tom Arnott’s bull Haymount Wavuzzo. This one is by Lockerley Kruz and out of homebred dam Haymount Wavutiana.

And then the champions entered the fray….Overall and junior champion John Lascelles’ Balmachie Franco 10,000gns to David Walker, Galcantry.

Reserve overall and reserve junior champion John Fraser’s Idvies Junior Eric 10,000gns to Robert McNeil Kincardine Castle.

Intermediate champion Neil Massie’s Blelack Black Velour 4200gns not sold.

Reserve intermediate champion Ballathie Estates’ Ballathie Bulldozer 3000gns to Crofters Commission.

Senior champion E and M Jones’ Rull Evitus 4000gns to John Walker, Aberdeen.

Reserve senior champion R and N Orr’s Halbeath Premier 4500gns to an Orkney breeder.
