Abergavenny suckled calve sale peaks at £1,420

A strong entry of 396 calves sold to a goodtrade at Abergavenny Market this week, with buyers looking for strong calveswith good conformation.

 

Trade peaked at £1,420 for the first prizeheifer, a Limousin cross from R T Watkins, Coldbrook. Weighing 260kg she soldto G Phillips and Son, Raglan.

 

The top price steer was a Limousin crossweighing 320kg from P J Long, Ross-on-Wye. It went to Mrs A Lewis, Brecon, withthe hammer falling at £930.
