This Limousin x weighing in at 658kgs is by the French bull Saphire and was bought at Ruthin Show Potential for an undisclosed sum and was bred by M Jones and Son, Ruthin. There’s no stopping Jager Bomb who has already won seven summer shows including six interbreeds this year.

He is heading to the Welsh Winter Fair but not Smithfield as Mr Jones is judging the beef classes at the show. Jager Bomb will be up for sale at the Welsh Winter Fair.

In reserve was Glyn Howatson and Son with Minnie M- a Limousin x British Blue weighing in at 510kgs. This homebred heifer is by Hartsideanew Crackerjack and out of Firecracker. She is the first calf out of Firecracker who was first in class at Agri-Expo in 2008. Minnie M has also had a successful season winning reserve overall at the Royal Welsh and reserve at Countryside Live last weekend.

The judge Archie Macgregor said it was a fantastic show of tremendous cattle. The champion was all correct in legs and had a tremendous loin and top without being over muscled. “The reserve however, didn’t quite have the lion of the champion but was terrific and stood well.”
