Aylesford dairy dispersal tops £2300 for second calver
Strong trade was seen at the Walker family’s Aylesford disposal sale, Melton Mowbray, with non pedigree milk recorded Holsteins going under the hammer. Purchasers flocked from as far field as Shropshire and Norfolk as well as local counties.
Top price was £2300 for fresh calved daughter of Isidorus Kermit sold with her second calf giving 42kg out of a 13,000 kg dam. She was bought by Messrs Swift, Staffordshire.Second call for £2250 a second calver and daughter of Raimon sold to Messrs Stokes, Shropshire.
Top 18 cows and heifers achieved an average of £1945. Served heifers due July onwards had a top price of £1640 averaging £1379 per head.
Calves and maidens with calves had an impressive call with a top price of £800 and maidens topping at £1110.
