Bailgate Limousins to 7000gns at Newark

A seven-year-old cow topped the trade at 7000gns when the Bailgate Limousin herd was dispersed at Newark Livestock Market for J Ward Farming, Greetwell, Lincoln.

Bailgate Baroness, a daughter of Junior, was suckling a heifer calf by Hudscales Earl. She goes to Herefordshire with E and S Layton.

The British Blue bull Littlewood Edmonton, a 2009-bred son of Empire D’Ochain, made 6000gns to Baumber Park Farms, Horncastle, Lincolnshire.

A 5,500gns call secured the served heifer Bailgate Flutter – a Glenrock Ventura daughter – for Paul Dawes, Hereford while J Cardwell, Doncaster gave 4700gns for the 2008-bred cow Greenwell Donatella. She is by Vagabond and was in-calf to Ulm.

Bound for York with buyer J Waring was the served heifer Bailgate Glenda. By Procters Commander she is in-calf to the Glenrock bull and made 4,000gns.

Suckling a bull calf was the 2009-bred Bailgate Emily who sold at 3900gns to J Morris, Carmarthenshire. She is by Ampertaine Abracadabra. Also bound for Wales at 3800gns was the Kype Orkney sired Bailgate Daisy. This 2008-bred cow had a heifer calf at foot and goes to C and F German, Caerws.
