The annual event followed the usual format with a show of prime cattle on Sunday with the cattle being housed overnight and sold within the regular Market on Monday.
Judge for the cattle this year was David and Chris Wright from Boston in Lincolnshire. This father and son duo teamed up to find an outstanding specimen within the show cattle. This 695kg black Limousin heifer won the senior heifer class and went on to be overall Champion from A Dickinson and L Powdrill, Heage. She sold on Monday to Mr Lee Machin of Manifold Valley Meats for 375p/kg to gross £2,606.25.

An excellent show of 185 quality show lambs forward for the Christmas Primestock Show & Sale gave the judge Neil Redfern of Harpur Hill a very difficult task in selecting his prize winning pens. The Champion pen shown by Paul Slater also won the medium weight class and went on to make 500p/kg. The show lambs saw a total clearance with an amazing average of 311p/kg. (Bagshaws)
