Balmoral Show 2013: Beef Interbreed

The interbreed beef championship was awarded to the champion Limousin Millbrook Ginger Spice for a consecutive year. She was exhibited by her breeder William Smith, from Oldcastle, Meath. This two-year is sired by the noted Wilodge Vantastic and out of Milbrook Baby. She made history last year, becoming the first junior interbreed champion to go on to win the overall interbreed title, and she was on top form this year, setting another record by becoming the first to retain the overall championship.

The champion Aberdeen Angus Old Glenort Precious Pollot was awarded the reserve interbreed rosette. It was only her second outing and her biggest win yet. This homebred heifer was bred by owner James Porter, from Lisburn, Co Antrim. Sired by Old Glenort Ennis J116 this one is out of Old Glenort Precious Pollot H92.

Champion: William McAllister’s year-old Limousin Artnagullion Hanna, from Meath. Sired by Oxygen this one is out of Annadale Alana.

This march 2012-born heifer is sired by Netherallan Peter Pershore and is out of Knockadrinan Blackbird.
