Beef Expo 2011: Baby Beef class results

 

2652011 Beef Expo Baby Beef Champ 2565 web.JPGThe first the day’s championships has just been judged, with a Limousin cross British Blue heifer taking the baby beef championship title.

 

Sinser from Michael Owen, Glantre, Ceredigion, was put forward by Chris and brother Andrew Owen. This is the first outing for the June 2010 born homebred heifer, who will now be heading to the Royal Welsh. She comes from the Owen’s herd of 120 cow suckler herd of the same breed.

 

Judge Keith Harryman praised the 377kg champion for her “good conformation, top line, style and meat in all the right places.”

 

In reserve was another Limousin cross, this time from Messrs Lawson and Wilkinson, 1 Ivy Farm Cottages, North Yorkshire. This 359kg steer was bred by Mr B R Lawson and Son.

Baby heifer up to and including 400kg

1st Mr M Owen’s Limousin x, Sinser;
