This one was bred by Alan Kendall, Reeth, and was purchased from Leyburn calf sale for £1,400 in February, after being placed reserve champion steer. It won first prize in its class at the Devon County Show just last week.
In reserve was T C Edwards and Sons’ Limousin cross Mr Dyson, from Corwen, Denbighshire. Tyson is bred by Bowen and Bowen, from Welshpool and was purchased by the Edwards family at Ruthin for £1,800.
