Beef Shorthorn championship awarded at Stirling

The Beef Shorthorn championships have been awarded, with the overall ticket going to Donald Biggar’s Chapelton herd, with senior champion Chapelton Braveheart. This is a Chapelton Typhoon son out of Chapelton Duchess, a Winalot Big Mac daughter. He has a TSI of +29 and an SRI of +21.

Reserve overall was Blelack Rupert from the Massies, capping a highly succesful day for the family. This heavily muscled bull a Blelack Secret Service son out of Blelack Rose and has a TSI of +17 and an SRI of +16.

Reserve senior champion was Alvie Blue Eyedboy from the Williamson family. He’s ET bred from full Canadian lines, being by Wolf Willow Major Leroy and out of HC Melba Niam. His TSI is +13 and his SRI is +8.

Junior championship honours were taken by Charles, Sally and Harry Horrell, with Podehole Beefeater, a Trojan of Craigeassie son out of Wenmar Madeline, the dam of last year’s Highland Show champion. He has a TSI of +16 and an SRI of +13.
