Beef Shorthorns still in demand
The Shorthorn bulls are still in demand here at Stirling, with Controller of Upsall, a Glenisla Zetor son out of Tessa X303 of Upsall selling at 4500gns to Messrs McGowan Fingask. This has a TSI of +29 and an SRI of +22.
Then just after at 4000gns was Fearn Columbus from John Scott. This is a Fearn Zeus son out of Fearn Silver Maisie, a Royalla Dollar daughter. This went with a TSI of +17 and an SRI of +15 to Mr Mitchell.
Selling at 6200gns was Burnside Caveman from the McAllister family. This is by Killycolp Major and out of Trunley Secret Wonderful, an Uppermill Raeburn daughter. With a TSI of +12 he was bought by Andy Ryder having been reserve junior champion.
And that is the end of the Shorthorns on what has been a fantastic trade for a great show of bulls, possibly the best show in recent years and certainly one of the most consistent trades of recent sales.
As expected the Shorthorns have hit a record average, levelling the day at ÂŁ4637 for 36 bulls sold.
