In the beef lines, it was a Limousin bull, Rosecroft Dynamite that took the supreme championship. Forward by Vince and Thomas Corbett, Wales and shown by David Cormack of Dynamite Delivery Services this three year old bull was bought in Carlisle last year. By Ryedal Paragon and out of a French cow, this one will be doing the show circuit this year.
In reserve was a five year old Simmental bull, Heathbrow Tristar by Heathbrow Mischief and out of AWL Startlet. This one forward by Andrew and Hayley Clark who own a 30 cow pedigree Simmental herd will be doing the show circuit this year.
Beef judge Peter Donger, Northamptonshire said the Limousin was the winner in his mind as he was smooth fleshed, had good locomotion, breed character and wasn’t too extreme, He also said the Simmental was a good example of its breed but wasn’t quite as good as the Limousin on locomotion.
Supreme Junior Champion was taken by the Saler bull Beeston Hall Corky from Rcahel and Stephen Hallos, West Yorkshire. By Poldean Daffy and out of Beeston Hall Amelia this one may be sold next week at Welshpool spring Saler sale or may travel on to the Great Yorkshire Show and Cheshire.
