Young stock best for Bringlee herd
Two young Holsteins that were imported as embryos pushed bidding to 6000gns and 5000gns at the dispersal of Shropshire dairy farmers Graham and Jane Brindley’s Bringlee herd.
One of these young starlets, the yearling heifer Bringlee Emory Caye is a daughter of MJR Blackstar and out of the Chief Mark cow Windermere Marke Caye, who produced seven lactations with a best of over 15,000kg.
The heifer joins the Caeremlyn herd of South Wales buyers Tegwyn and Mary Davies.
The milking heifer Dravic Mandel Tracy realised 5000gns.
Calved just three weeks and out of a Wilsondale dam by Leadman, she heads for Peter Andrews’ Ruckhall herd in Herefordshire. He also gave 3800gns for the fourth calver Inch Basar Dellia, whose heifer calf by Terrick Reggie made 1100gns.
Another daughter by Aquila Patron Lucente, due with her first next May, realised 3200gns to R&C Harris for their Winkleigh herd in Devon.
