Beeston coloured dairy cattle in demand

A smaller than usual entry of coloured breed dairy cattle met a good trade at Beeston last week with the top call of 1750gns given for a fresh third calved Ayrshire cow from Ted Fearon, Grange?over?Sands, Cumbria. This was Cuthill Towers Zara 22 purchased by Tony Yardley, Stafford.

Another Ayrshire from O C Whittaker and Sons, Knutsford, sold for 1520gns to I L and O G Roberts, Churchstoke, Montgomery. In?calf heifers from J W and R Massey and Partners, Gawsworth, sold to 1320gns for Pylon Elaine 12, a daughter of Highway Billy Ruffian.

A consignment of Brown Swiss Maiden Heifers from Mike and Jane Edwards, Malmesbury, Wiltshire, were in demand, with a top call of 1620gns given for November 2009 Cimarron Vigor Dorothy 3 which went to D T and M A Jones, Pwllheli, who also purchased the January 2010

born Cimarron Prodigo Maria for 1600gns.
