Top price of the dayat last week’s mid month dairy sale at Beeston Castle was a £2320 bid for thepedigree heifer, Womack Icefyre Susie, a daughter of Braedale Icefyre, who hadcalved at the end of August and who was part of the first portion to disperse theherd for DA and E M Drinkall and Sons, Darnhall, Winsford. She to G Green andSons, Northwich.
Mark Bowden ofMalpas, had the next two top prices. At £2300 he sold the Bolton daughter,Holbeck Bolton Gillian 108 and at £2100 he sold Ingleden Freeman Lady 2, bothbeing purchased by D and H E Colclough and Son, Sandbach.
Also at £2100 wasFlashhouse Spirte Pheasant 2 from G and A E Smith and Sons, Garstang, selling toP and A Howard Winsford. Messr J H and P E Nicholson, Norfolk, sold NeatishallDamion Showy 2 for £2080 to J G Williams, Nantwich, whilse the only other twoto reach the £2000 mark were a homebred Gambledown Ensign daughter from O CWhittaker and Sons, Knutsford, and a Stardale Vaughan daughter from the Taylorbrothers, Jack and Barclay, of Shrewsbury.
