Beltex sell to 4,000gns at Welshpool

Beltex trade at Welshpool peaked at 4,000gns by shearling ram Freckleto Wolverine from Colin and Vernon Roots. This son of Freckleton Socket is out of Freckleton Rioja, a Freckleton Kerron daughter, and sold to J D R and J L Corbett, Newent, Gloucestershire.

Second best in the males was a 1,650gns call for another shearling ram, Cennen Wonder from G J Williams and Co. This son of Cennen Steve is out of Cennen Wonder and is a full ET brother to the 2013 Welshpool sale champion. This one found a new home with T W Price, Builth Wells.

Then making 1,450gns was the best of the ram lambs, Smart Ass Alpha Male. This son of The Godfather from D E Owen is out of the Glantre Norris daughter Woodies Rice Crispie and sold to C R Parry, Llangoed, Beaumaris.

Following that at 1,150gns was another of the shearling tups, Bailey Brook Wannabe from Dermot Costelloe. This one is by Bailey Brook Tracker and out of  Camp House Paula, a Beechtree Macaw daughter. He was the pick of T I M Hughes, Meifod, Powys.

At the same money was Cennen Wonder from G J Williams and Co. Again sired by Cennen Steve he is out of Cennen Regal, a Cennen Nice Try daughter. This one sold to S Amos, Manningtree, Essex.

Just shy of that at 1,100gns was shearling ram Wern Wilcin, a Magnolia De Nobelhaye son out of Brickrow Nibble, a Fron Kevin daughter. He was bought by M L Thomas, Llanwrst, Gwynedd.

Two then sold at 1,050gns with the first of these being Rob Rattray’s shearling ram Rattray’s Wally, a Rattray’s Mr Urdd son out of Rattray’s Polly, a Clary Kaiser Chief daughter. Buying this one were D R Owen and Son, Tywyn, Gwynedd.

And the other at this level was Y Bedol Watch Out from T G Davies. This is a son of Y Bedol Talisman out of Y Bedol Siani, an Aviemore Priamus daughter. He was knocked down to T W Price, Builth Wells.

Females

Heading up the female prices was a 1,300gns sale for shearling ewe Tywi Wispa. This one from Ioan Jones is by Rattray’s Stan the Man and out of Tywi Socs, an Ian’s Manitou daughter. She sold to J and R Jerman, Whitley-on-Wye.

A pair of gimmers then sold at 750gns, with the first of these being Y Bedol Wild Girl from T G Davies. She’s by Cothi Stripper and is out of Brickrow Hairtoday, a Headlind Ee By Gum daughter. Buying this one was O J Talbot, St Martins, Oswestry.

Also at this price was Gwion Morgan’s Wern Wiwer, a Magnolia De Nobelhaye daughter out of an imported dam. She sold to G R Evans, Cerrig, Llanelli.

And then making 600gns was Freckleton Wallow from the Roots family. This Freckleton Socket daughter is out of Freckleton Ready To Go, a Callacrag Nightrider daughter and was bought by R A Hughes, Llanfair Pwll, Anglesey.
