Bentham Ram Page sale hits £1,600
At the Annual Bentham ‘Ram-Page’ quality commercial rams were in strong demand for all breeds. The sale day entry of 401 resulted in an 85% clearance with most categories selling averages up on the year.
Dan Towers of Curwen Hill topped the sale with his pure bred Beltex Shearling selling for £1600 to William Parker of Dalton in Furness.
Charollais Shearlings sold to £580 twice from CW Marwood & Son of Whenby and Mrs L Worthington of Ramsbottom, with the section averaging £370.98 up £42.41 on the year.
Other top prices were:
Suffolk Shearlings to £1000 from JA&F Nutrter, Hurst Green, up £38 on the year.
Beltex Shearlings to £1600 from Dan Towers, Wray, down £93 on the year.
Texel Shearlings to £900 from H Huddleston & Son, Arkholme, up £26 on the year.
X Bred Shearlings to £1000 from ME Wannop & Sons, Heaton, up £1 on the year.
