Border Leicester in-lamb ewes top 500gns at Carlisle

Realising a top price of 500gns at the Border Leicester in lamb show and sale at Carlisle was the day’s reserve champion gimmer from JE Brown, Mindrum Mill, Northumberland.

Sired by Bosolo Ghali she is out of a Eidon Ice Bear dam and is in-lamb to Westforth 900. Buyer was R Brown, Radernie, Cupar.

 

Just shy of the top price at 450gns was Mary Laidlaw’s third prize gimmer from Glaston, Ayrshire. Sired by Kinninmonth Kiwi and out of a Ditton Olympic dam she is carrying triplets to Walton Wildcard. Purchaser was Jsamine Hine, Kirkland, Frizington.

 

Next best at 380gns was Ms Laidlaw’s champion gimmer, sired by Alticane Diamond and carrying twins to Walton Wildcard. She sold to NJ and KM Summerfield, Whitmore, Newcastle.

 

Two lots sold for 350gns.

The first was JE Brown’s Drennan 007 Solo sired hogg out of an Eildon Ultimo Regalis sired dam.

The second was James Brown’s Eildon Everest sired gimmer, from his Northumberland-based flock. She is due to Westforth 900.

Both lots were purchased by R Brown, Radernie, Cupar.
