British Blue calves dominate Gisburn show

Gisburn Auction Marts summer calf show on last week was dominated by British Blue sired calves.

The champion, was a three week old bull calf from Colin and Sheila Whitelock, Church Farm, Gargrave, Skipton, North Yorkshire. Sired by one of the Whitelock’s stock bulls, Littlebank Bruce bred by Richard and Wendy Maudsley, Rathmell, Settle, North Yorkshire, sold for £475 to John Swann, Little Ouseburn, York.

Jim Holden, Chaigley, Clitheroe picked up the reserve champion rosette, with his four week old British Blue heifer calf which sold for £412 to RE & J Tyson, Keswick, Cumbria.
