British Blue heifer tops £6,100 at Allams Christmas Show and Sale

After a wee bit of chasing up and sorting out some email problems, here are the top prices from the Allams Christmas Show and Sale….

 

alams11 aa 6313.jpgThe recent Allams Christmas Show and Sale of beef cattle held at the Balmoral Showground, Belfast, saw the hammer come down at £6,100 for a British Blue heifer.

The top price on the day went to the supreme champion and British Blue champion on the day.  This 860kg British Blue heifer from Stephen Williamson, Benburb, sold to The Meat Merchant, Moira.

The next top price on the day was £3,700 for the resere supreme champion and Charolais champion.  This price went to a 430kg Charolais heifer from Hempton & Hamilton, Gorton.  It was bought by Rodney Windrum, Armagh.

Meanwhile, a 590kg Aberdeen Angus heifer from Louise & Mark Breen, Augher, sold for £3,100.  This one, which took the title of Ulster housewife’s champion, was bought by Jonathan McDowello, Farmview Meats.

Other leading prices on the day included £2,800 for an Aberdeen Angus heifer from James Alexander, Randalstown, which sold to The Morning Star Restaurant, Belfast; £2,400 for a 570kg Limousin heifer from Finnegan Livestock, Dunagnnon, which sold to Corrie Meats, Newtownards; £2,100 for a 690kg Aberdeen Angus bullock from Messrs Leckey & Law, Kesh, which sold to Foyle Omagh Meats; and £2,050 for a 610kg Blonde heifer from Richard Law, Ballinamallard, which sold to Paul Faulkner.
