Carhall Lyster Elizabeth takes National Holstein Show title
Having competed against an elite and somewhat expensive line up at this year’s National Holstein Show at Stafford, the Cumbria-based Mallinson family took the top title with Carhall Lyster Elizabeth.
The August 2003-born is by Tcet Lyster and out of Wiltor Cousteau Elizabeth. The second calver is currently giving 53 litres a day at 4.58% butterfat and 2.3% protein, having just calved 35 days ago.
Taking the reserve spot was Ridgefield Progress Rose from the Smiddiehill Holsteins show team. This accolade topped a rather successful day’s showing for the Shropshire-based herd, as they took the intermediate heifer title with Smiddiehill Forbidden Erle, out of the UK Holstein record holder Field of Dreams Formation Erle.
