Carlisle Latter Fair Mules hit £420

Carlisle’s annual Latter Fair show and sale of Mule gimmer lambs saw anentry of 5775 forward and a top price and new centre record of £420 paid forthe reserve champion pen from John Smith-Jackson, Hightown. These sold toRobert Carter, Parcelstown, Longtown.

Second best at £240 was the fifth prize pen from Messrs Scott, ThirwallCastle, while the third prize pen from Messrs James, Mid Todhills. And making £220was the champion pen from Messrs Moore, Highside, which sold to MessrsJenkinson, Clifton Moor.

The sale levelled out at £116.74, a rise on the year of £16.50, leavingall vendors highly delighted with the day’s trading, report the auctioneers,Harrison and Hetherington.
