Charolais sell to 6600gns high

A solid trade which peaked at 6600gns was result of last Friday’s Charolais sale at Dungannon, with trade led by the day’s female champion, Holywell Decota from John and Sandra Middleton, Londonderry.This Oldstone Egbert daughter is out of a homebred dam which goes back to Doonally New. She sold to C Ferris, Crossgar, Co Down.Dungannon10Hollywell Dacota.jpgBest in the bulls was a 5000gns call for the reserve male champion, Derryharney Elvis from Harold Stubbs. Sired by 10,000gns bull Thrunton Bonjovi and out of a Loughside cow by Chesham Flint, he was taken by H Wilson, Ballymena, Antrim.Dungannon10Derryharney Elvis.jpgFollowing that at 4300gns was Dartonhall Exeden, a Knockane Collen son out of a homebred dam from John Erskine, Killylea. He sold to W M Jeffers, Coleraine.

At 4000gns was the day’s male champion, Glassdrummond Echo from Peter Vallely, Derrynoose. This Thrunton Voldemort son is out of  a Killiskeen bred cow and sold to A Gallacher, Newtonstewart.

Then selling at 3900gns was Cloncarrish Ernie, a Millstreet Charlo son from M Ritchie, Richill. bred by the Matchett family, this one was bought by F Connon, Ballymena.

And a brace then sold at 3600gns, with the first at this price being Drumconnis Enterprise, another by Egbert and this time from John McGrath. He sold to R Robertson, Newtonards. The other at this money was Cuillmore Elton, a Pirate son from Victor Bothwell. This one was bought by H Lennox, Magherafelt.

Second best of the day in the females was a 2800gns call for Tullylagan Estella, a Gwenog Braveheart daughter from S Hammond, Cookstown. Gilbert Crawford bought this one.
