Cheviots sell to £12,000 twice at Lockerbie

Cheviot Hillrams sold to a flying trade at Lockerbie on Monday, with prices reaching£12,000 twice.

 

Topping thesale were two shearling rams from Jim Robertson, The Becks, Langholm. First atthis money was a shearling by Kale JR which sold to the Firm of StirkfieldFarms. The second followed a few lots later and is a son of the homebred sireBecks EM and EM which was knocked down in a two way split to J Common and Son, CrossdykesFarm, Langholm and Messrs Bridgewater and Wood, Potholm, Langholm.

A pair also sold at £9000, with the first coming from Blair and Morag Cockburn.Sired by Skelfhill Hercules, this ram was purchased by Jim Robertson, The Becks,Langholm.

Second at £9000 was a shearling entry from Messrs Weir, Mainside Farm, Hownam.Their leading ram was by Mainside Nelson and sold to in a shared deal to JimRobertson, The Becks, Langholm and P Jackson, The Roan, Newcastleton.

Another from Jim Robertson then took the next best call of £8200, with thisbeing a Kale Zephyr son which sold to W A Fleming, Hislop, Teviothead, Hawick.

Reaching the £8000 mark was one from W J Douglas and Son, Upper Hindhope,Jedburgh. This was a son of Kale Yahoo and was purchased by Aithrie Estates, SnarrFarm, Crawfordjohn and R H Paton, Gateslack, Thornhill.

Selling at £7500 was the reserve champion from W A Fleming, Hislop, with thisone a son of Cowburn Boss. He sold to J McNeil, Glenjaan, Moniavie.
