Taking the baby beef championship and reserve place was father and son team Tecwyn Jones with his British Blue Cross Limousin heifer Siani. This is hombred and is first time shown. She is by Valdes Vande Sluizenwegi and next head’s to Agri Expo in Carlisle in two weeks time.

Tecwyn’s 14-year-old son Llyr Jones took reserve place with Rambo, a May born British Blue x Limousin.

Speaking about his pickings judge Hugh Dunlop, who farms near Ayr said: “The champion was longer in length, had a cleaner line and was better on the legs. He just caught my eye better. The standard here is as good as anywhere in the country,” he said.
