Cover girl Bringlee Desiree leads Bringlee offering at 13,000gns
A call of 13,000gns secured the best from the Bringlee herd offering from Graham Brindley and family today in Carlisle. Sale leader was the catalogue’s cover girl Bringlee Desiree (lot 109). By Sjaka Zoeloe Van Zwaanhof, this December 2008-born heifer is out of the herd’s noted show cow Bringlee Sandy. Shown herself, Desiree has notched up wins at Agri Expo and the championship at the Welsh Calf Show last year. She sold to Ceirian and Anna Jones, Rhiwonnen, Abermeurig, Lampeter, Ceredigion.
Next at 9000gns was her full ET sister Bringlee Dorianda (lot 110) who on both occasions shown stood second to her sister and now heads to Oswestry, Shropshire, with WR and WW Jones for their Tanat herd.
And it was Sandy who was breeding the next heifer in the money, this time Bringlee Estelle (lot 121) who is by Graphite. She stood first at the Welsh Calf Show as an intermediate heifer and sold for 8500gns to Trevor Ashmore, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
The January 2009-born black and white heifer Bringlee Electra (lot 113) was next in the money selling for 6500gns. By Bringlee Blackstar, a son of Sandy, she is out of Cerise 2120 Neuve Cour. Again, this one has proved successful on the summer show circuit having taken the breed and interbreed calf championship at Nantwich Show last year and will likely make an apperance on the 2010 circuit with new owner Paul Barwood, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
Just shy of that price tag, selling for 6200gns, was Bringlee Eesandy (lot 123). The youngest Sandy daughter to be offered in the sale, this May 2009-born heifer is by Gamin Des 3 Frontieres is the only daughter of that particular mating and sold to AG Teasdale, Penrith, Cumbria.
Two animals then sold for 5000gns, the first of which was Bringlee Evadine (lot 122). Again, a Sandy daughter, this one is by Graphite and sold in a half share deal (details to follow). At the same money was an ET calf suckling a recipient dam. Bringlee Eleanor (lot 127) is by Bringlee Blackstar and is out of the Cubitus daughter Directive Et De Fooz. This one is half sister to Boomer Armani, mother of Boomer Dior and Boomer DKNY and kncoked down to H Cockburn and Partners, West Linton, Peebleshire.
Sale leader from Boomer Birch’s guest offering was Boomer Destiny (lot 105) who sold for 6200gns. By Bringlee Waldo, Destiny is out of the Gib daughter Gregmaur Abba. Destiny has been shown once already as a six month old calf where she stood reserve champion at the North West Club Calf Show and now heads to Huntly, Aberdeenshire, with JC Innes and Son for their Strathbogie herd.
