Craigskean Bluefaced Leicester dispersal to £7500
The dispersal of John and Margaret Kerr’s Craigskean flock of Bluefaced Leicesters at Castle Douglas on Saturday sold to a peak of £7500 for a shearling ewe by Z1 Firth and out of a homebred dam X1. She was scanned carrying triplets and went to Gavin Kerr, Sauchrie Mains.
Second top at £3800 was another shearling by Z1 Firth and out of a homebred ewe X13. Scanned carrying a pair she sold to Henry Larne.
Best of the one-crop ewes was a £2600 bid for a Z1 Firth daughter carrying triplets which sold to R McTurk, Glenhowl, Dalry. In the older ewes the best sale was a £2300 bid for an X1 Craigskean daughter which went to S McClymount, Tinnis, and in the ewe lambs the sale topper sold for £2600.
Averages; 37 in-lamb ewes £1016.48, 19 in-lamb shearlings £1381.05, 31 ewe hoggs £763.87 (Wallets Marts).
