Dairy dispersal put back till later this year
A dispersal sale of an entire South Shropshire dairy herd planned for Friday has been postponed to later this year.
Shropshire auctioneers Halls were due to hold the sale of a herd of 269 Holstein Friesian dairy cattle at Poplars Farm, Brockton, Much Wenlock on behalf of Messrs E G Brown and Sons following a decision to dissolve the farming partnership.
Halls’ director David Giles said a decision had been taken at short notice to postpone the auction to a future date. However, the family is to go ahead with a dispersal sale of an extensive range of farm machinery from Poplars Farm in around 700 lots at Little Oxenbold Farm, Brockton, Much Wenlock on Friday, April 18.
A vast range of machinery and equipment is included in the sale due to the Brown family’s substantial and diverse farming enterprises. Lots include14 tractors and loaders, a 1989 Claas Dominator 108 combine, two lorries, a Land Rover Defender, irrigation and umbilical equipment, implements, machinery and workshop and livestock equipment.
