Dairy Event 2011: New health products to hit market

New animal health products are to be launched to the UK Dairy market.

After the acquisition of Janssen Pharmaceutical, Elanco – the animal health division of Eli Lilly – has announced that innovative new products will be launched in the coming months.

Speaking at Dairy Event and Livestock Show, UK Director Mike Brown said: “We have plans to launch three new innovative products to the industry”.

Although the actual type of products have not yet been released, they are expected to cover key problems facing dairy farmers: mastitis, metabolic and respiratory diseases as well as reproduction and fertility issues.

“We see a bright future for the dairy industry. Currently China is trying to increase its calcium consumption from 100g to 300g, therefore creating a great demand for dairy products,” he continued.

The new products are expected to be launched to the market in the coming year following European Commission approval.
