NW dairy unit includes rotary parlour
Lancs agent Armistead Barnett is about to test the market with one of the largest dairy units to be sold in the north-west for some time.
Sandvilla Farm at Cockerham, near Lancaster, is being sold by J Barton & Son following the decision of the business to retire from farming and concentrate on other interests.
Richard Furnival, who is handling the sale, said the 520-acre farm had an extensive range of modern dairy buildings, including a 40-point rotary parlour, which could handle up to 400 cows.
“I am confident the sale will generate a great deal of interest from far and wide.”
Including a six-bed farmhouse, he has priced Sandvilla at 2.5m.
