Picture round-up of winning cows from UK Dairy Expo

More than 400 cows were entered at this year’s UK Dairy Expo event at Carlisle, making it one of the largest shows of all the seven dairy breeds in the UK.

There was a truly international flavour to the event at Borderway Mart, which is now in its fourth year, with American dairy farmer Hank Van Exel and Canadian Barclay Phoenix picking the day’s delights.

There was one herd that stood out for the judges in the line-up and that was the Richaven herd of Richard Bown, Hanley Castle, Worcester. He took both the overall champion title with his Holstein champion Richaven Goldwyn Squaw 6, as well as the reserve Holstein title with Richaven Rapture Rebecca.

Below is a round-up of the breed champions from the show.
