Dinmore Limousins rocket to 36,000gns

Lot 50 Dinmore Fabulous £36,000gns 2 web.jpgBidding for the “jewel in the crown” at the reduction sale of Paul Dawes’ Dinmore Limousin herd reached 36,000gns when the Wilodge Vantastic sired maiden heifer Dinmore Fabulous lived up to her name in front of a crowd of almost 1500.

 

Fresh from her victory as reserve champion at the Shropshire Show, Fabulous is out of the top show cow Camorn Voney and is full sister to the big winner Dinmore Elegance who was interbreed champion at Shropshire. Fabulous has a Beef Value of LM+44 and was bought by Leominster-based Nick Layton on behalf of Dai Walters for their new joint Limousin venture.

 

Minutes later the ring at the Dinmore Manor Estate near Hereford was buzzing again as bidding reached 22,000gns with another winning call from Nick Layton to secure Dinmore Foxy.

 

 

Lot 58 Dinmore Foxy £22,000gns web.jpgBy stock bull Procters Duvalier and out of the Vantastic dam Dinmore Caprice, she has a Beef Value of LM+35 and won her class at the breed society’s National show last year.

 

The first five-figure bid came from Mick Maloney when he paid 14,500gns to secure the 2006-bred cow Dinmore Belta who was suckling her heifer calf by Hafodlas Cymro. Belta is by Wilodge Tonka.

 

Garth Lee was in at 12,800gns to take Dinmore Helebore, (below) a Vantastic sired June 2011-bred heifer out of the Talent sired Croftlimousin Primrose. She was sold suckling her British Blue-cross dam.

At 10,000gns T B Griffiths claimed Dinmore Gameboy, a March 2011-bred Vantastic son out of the Ronick Iceman cow Newstart Uptowngirl.
