Dungannon Limousins in demand to 6000gns
Northern Irish Limousin breeders saw trade peak at 6000gns on Saturday on a day that saw 16 lots head to the mainland.
Heading up the prices was Aghadolgan Daytona from Raymond Savage. This September 2008-born son of 23,000gns sire Sarkley Sebastian is out of a Goldies Oswald daughter and sold to Norman Cruickshank for his Lanark-based Normande herd.
At 4400gns was another from the same home Aghadolgan Drover. This one, also by Sebastian is out of a Ronick Iceman daughter and sold to Roy Savage, Dromore.
Selling for 4100gns was the pre-sale champion from Messrs Green, Lisburn. Derriaghy Diggerman is by AI sire Rocky and ouf of Derrraighy Upstart, a Shire Milton daughter. He sold to P Donnelly, Ballygawley.
And a brace then sold at 4000gns, the first of which was Carnew Derby from J and J Aiken, Dromara. This Ryedale Paragon son is out of Sweethall Redlady, a dam with Cannon in her back pedigree and sold to J Kelly, Limavady.
Second to make this money was Derrylough Drummer from D M Smyth. This Ulm son out of a Gigolo granddaughter sold to David Wilson, Armagh.
Leading the females on offer was a 4600gns bid for the female and reserve overall champion, Bridgeford Chloe from B McElroy. By Nenuphar and out of Bridgeford Saskia she sold to D McNamee, Co Tyrone. At 4200gns was Mas du Clo daughter Rahoney Deborah from H and D McFarland. Then at 4000gns was Rahoney Dorcas also by Mas du Clo. The first sold to Oliver Davis, Co Longford, while the second was taken by A Finney, Banbridge.
