Dutch Texel sale tops at 2,400gns at Carlisle

Yesterday’s pedigree Dutch Texel sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle, hit a high of 2,400gns for shearling ram Thacka Silva.

 

This one is an Abbot PLA07038 son and out of a dam by J Pundyk 2. Put forward by G Pyman from his Thacka Flock, he sold in a joint sale to J Knight, Church Style, Wasdale, Seascale, Cumbria, and N C Marston, Millstone Moor Farm, Cockermouth, Cumbria.

 

Next at 1,500gns was another shearling ram from the same flock, this time selling to R M and A E Bell, High Fell, Hallbankgate, Brampton, Carlisle. This ram is by the same sire as the top price animal and again out of a dam by J Pundyk 2.

 

Close behind was an entry from Steven Wigham’s Hargill herd. Shearling ram, Hargill UK 106581, sold to W A Matthew, Stoneygate Farm, Hatton, Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, for 1,400gns having won first prize shearling ram and overall reserve champion.

 

J and E A Amos, Berwyn, Carreglefn, Anglesey, the secured Wiston Seal UK224794 for 1,150gns. Put forward by S H C and J B Rawlings, this one is a Wiston Ovid son and out of a dam by Wiston Luger.
