Early Beef Expo suckled calf results
Here are the early class results from the suckled calf classes at Beef Expo this morning.
Taking the baby bullock class was Neil Slack with his Limousin cross Trigger, this one weighed 376kg. Second was Phil and Sharon Sellers with their Limousin cross Braveheart at 421kg and third was the Sellers again with One and Only, another Lim cross which weighed 346kg.
In the first of the baby heifers it was J Lee and Sons who took top place with 325kg Lim cross Kurra Lee, second was T C Edwards and Sons with Miss Cardi, a 307kg Lim cross and third was 306kg Limousin cross She’s Sassy from Messrs Richardson and Dunlop.
The second split in the baby heifers was won by Phil and Sharon Sellers with Miss Moneypenny, a Lim cross at 378kg, second here was J W and R M Wilkinson with Josie a Lim cross at 368kg and third were the Sellers again with I’m So Lukcy, a Lim cross at 368kg.
In the Native steer class the winner was Elfed Williams with Oakchurch Electric, an Angus cross at 488kg, second was Andrew Ewing with a Belted Galloway at 588kg and third was a Galloway from J W K Paterson and Son at 349kg.
The lightweight Limousin steer class went to Messrs Richardson and Hyslop with Super Trouper at 479kg, second was Tecwyn Jones with Black Jack at 492kg and third was J W and R M Wilkinson with Coco Pop at 487kg.
Middleweight steer winner was D Hughes with Bradley at 524kg, second was Keith Harryman with Ronaldo at 538kg, third was J Craggs with Otis at 566kg.
And the heavyweight Limousin steer winner was G and E Jones with 606kg Cawr, second was V and G Bowring with Baby Cakes a 674kg entry and third was J and D Hyslop with 614kg Tommy Zoom.
