Early Royal Welsh beef results
Having spent the morning round the beef judging rings I can now bring you some of the early breed championship results.
Champion in the Charolais was John Howells with stock bull Thrunton Classic, a Burradon Talisman son, born in August 2007 and out of Thrunton Upsadaisy.
Taking the Blonde title was Charlotte Boden with Hackleton Aimee, the champion from the Royal. She’s by Whistley Dollar and out of Hackleton Pom Pom.
South Devon champion was David Smallcombe with his January 2003-born bull Grove Brutus. This one, bred by W H D Scott is by Grove Hadrian and out of Grove Buttercup. Reserve was T Gareth Davies with Monkton Cowslip 10, a February 2000-born cow by Southland Crossland Prince 2 and out of Monkton Cowslip 2.
In the Simmental judging the champion was Boddington Estates with their cow Sterling Krumpet’s Roxanne, she’s by Sterling Flint and out of Sterling Hawaii’s Krumpet. Reserve was Roger Birch with his heifer Pasturefields Princess Versace. This is by Corrick Kentcuky Kid and out of Pasturefields Princess 3.
Meanwhile, judging is progressing in the mammoth Limousin classes, with the male championship going to Christine Williams and Paul Tippetts with Wilodge Dallagio a July 2008-born son of Vantastic, he’s out of Sarkley Bellola and was male calf champion at Beef Expo this year.
