October-2011 born Sunrise Hamster 3010 is by Sunrise Hamster 2022A and out of Sunrise Elegance 1745. Judge John Herbert said: “He is a very correct boar, very well grown for his age, correct underneath, agile and good on his legs. He has excellent conformation.”

The Hobbs have shown Hamster since buying his as a weaner in October, but he will be used on their sows after going to the Yorkshire Show next week where he has qualified for pig of the year. The Hobbs have six sows back at home, which are a mix of Landrace and Hampshires.

In reserve was a British Lop gilt, Bakers Actress 27 from Mark and Emma Edgar, Hall House Bakers End, Herts. She’s by Greenway Charles 8 and out of Bakers Actress 8.

Mr Herbert said he liked his reserve because she was in-pig and was very correct.
