Easter market at Sedgemoor meets solid trade

A large entry of 281 Lambsat Sedgemoor’s Easter show and sale sold to a remarkable trade, with all lambsaveraging over £110 a head.  Thechampion lambs from Messrs C J Dare and Son topped the sale at £130 ahead.  Second best price on the daycame from Messrs H K Hebditch and Son at £125 a head.

With lamb prices up across theboard in the last few weeks, demand is expected to remain robust for Easter.

However, UK Survey ofAgriculture by Defra has confirmed more lambs are yet to be marketed.
