Electric trade at High Peak sale at Bakewell market

There was an electric trade at the High Peak Livestock Society Store Cattle and Store sheep sale at Bakewell on Friday.

 

Having been postponed due to heavy snow, the re-scheduled sale saw most of the catalogued entry forward, together with a few additions.

 

The highlight of the sale was the entry of Limousin x Steers (8-13mths) from Chatsworth. The first three pens – each of 11 cattle –  sold at ÂŁ1,400, ÂŁ1,380 and ÂŁ1,250 and the entire run of 52 averaged ÂŁ1,251.

 

The largest entry in the sale was from Mrs M Mosley and Sons of Matlock comprising no fewer than 146 Charollais and Limousin steers and heifers.

 

The first three pens of Charollais – mostly steers of 9-10mths – sold at ÂŁ1,040, ÂŁ1,040 and ÂŁ1,050 and the first three pens of Charollais x heifers were ÂŁ810, ÂŁ810 and ÂŁ810.
