Emperor takes Poll Bull Champ

A twenty one month old Hereford bull, Romany 1 Emperor, has been awarded the Poll Bull of the Year Championship.

Bred and exhibited by Ronald and Robert Wilson  and Sons, Kelso, Emperor is by 2007 Hereford Sire of the year, Crickley 1 Figurehead and his dam Romany 1 Pansy, is by two time Sire of the Year and past Royal Show Champion Glenlees 1 Storm.

 

Romany 1 Emperor has enjoyed a fine show season being crowned both Hereford and Native Inter-breed Champion at this years Royal Show. Emperor also has impressive BreedPlan performance recorded figures; with a Terminal Sire Index of +28 (top 10%) and an eye muscle of +2.9 (top 1%).

 

The Poll Female of the Year is shared between D and E Colledge with Hawkesbury 1 Volli-vont and P Cobley with Kinglee 1 Sadie. 

 

30 month old Volli-vont is by Churchlands Estate 1 Pegasus and out Hawkesbury 1 Varsity and was Supreme Hereford Champion at the Royal Show. Relative newcomers to the Breed, D and E Colledge from Coventry, Warwickshire took the Royal Supreme Championship for the second time in three years.

 

Sadie bred by Peter Cobley from Leicestershire has a Terminal Index of +29 and is by Costhorpe 1 Victorious. She has also had a successful show season collecting points at some of the top shows around the country, most notably taking the Junior Female Championship at the Three Counties Show, Malvern, Worcestershire.
