Ewes and lambs hit £101 a life at Kirkby Stephen

A tremendous trade saw Mule hoggs with lambs at foot hit a top call of £101 a life at Kirkby Stephen this week when G Sowerby, Terrys Farm, sold his first prize winners from the pre-sale show to J W Little, Row End.

Second best price of the day was a £94 a life sale for more Mule hoggs, this time from Messrs Winter Bros, Clickham. These sold to C J M Hedley, Burn Farm, while the same buyer paid £80 a life for more of the same from the same vendor.

In the Swaledale section the top price was a £65 a life call for ewes with twin Mule lambs from P G Sayer, Musgrave House.
