Family favourite tops Culverhayes sale
Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt reported strong trade at the dispersal of Tim and Mandy Reed’s milking and heifer calf portion of their Culverhayes herd which topped at 8000gns for one of the family’s favourites.
As expected it was their son Christopher’s ‘Culverhayes Talent Lydia’ (VG86-2yr) from the same family as the Ex95 ‘Idee Lustre’ that stole the show selling for 8000gns to Gatrog and Alltar Holsteins of Wales.
The Ex94-4E ‘Wedgewood Royalty Storm’ sixth Calver from four generations of VG or Ex sold for 4400 gns to a West Country Partnership.
A fantastic bunch of calved heifers topped at 3,800 gns for the June calved ‘Culverhayes Convincer Rolls ET’ from five generations of Ex dams she joins the Thomas Family in
The Outside daughter from the ‘Holepark Lena 35th Ex90-2’ dam sold for 3000 gns as did the GP83 ‘Rill Lucente Mason Lea’ that was due in August to her second.
Heifer calves sold to 820gns for the ‘Sinatra Marbella’ born in April and out of the VG88 Hatwell bred dam. Younger calves were also in demand selling to 650 gns for the July born ‘Amos Cherry’ whose dam sold for 2250 gns.
