First morning Royal Welsh beef results

Beef judging has been progressing well this morning in the breed classes with several breed champions now decided here at Builth Wells.

Taking the Hereford title was Gerald Blandford with Bosa 1 Fuggles, a Newtoncroft 1 Buster son out of Bosa 1 Rosa 254. TS RW South Hereford2010.jpgReserve here were the Allman family with Greenyards 1 Lotty, a Greenyars 1 Archie daughter out of Dendor 1 Echo 6.

In the Charolais is was a win for Gareth Jones with his heifer Esgob Dwynwen, a Thrunton Virginian daughter out of Esgob Unwin. TS RW Char Champ2010.jpgTaking reserve spot was well travelled cow Balnuith Candy, a Moyness Vivacious daughter out of Advie Ulness, from Aberdeenshire-based Lynwen Evans.

Lifting the Blonde silverware was one of the seasons big winners so far, Hackleton Vixen from Hackleton Farms. TS RW South Blonde 2010.jpgThis Brownhill Oswald sired cow is out of Hackleton Lorreta. Reserve here was R G Davies with heifer Fronfedw Camwy, a Fronfedw Virgil daughter out of Fronfedw Patagones.

Then in the Simmentals the winner was Boddington Estates with Sterling Dolores Petra, last week’s reserve interbreed from Great Yorkshire. She is by Sterling Flint and out of Sterling Adel’s Dolores. rw simm 2010.jpgIn reserve was the Evans family with their bull Wroxhall Tracer, a Lamhoj Supery son out of Wroxhall Jema Lady.

It was a double for Boomer Birch bred cattle in the British Blues with Sheila Mason taking the overall championship with Boomer DKNY, an Operateur De Fontaine daughter out of Boomer Armani, while reserve was Boomer himself with Boomer Euphoria, a Bringlee Waldo daughter out of the same dam.
