First quality heifers average in excess of £2000

Trade was strong at this month’s August collective sale at Ross-on-Wye market, with five heifers selling in excess of £2000 and a top price of £2200.

 

Leading the way was Richaven Squawbuck Jess Red, a daughter of Richaven Squawbuck and out of an EX91 dam. Consigned by Brownswood Holsteins, Worcester, this one was bought by Trebersed Farm Partnership, Carmarthen.

 

Next in the money was a 2150gns bid for Gordonel Bolton Greenage 47, a Sandy Valley Bolton daughter forward from T S and M Oakes. This one was purchased by J and R Twose and Sons, Whitland, Carmarthen.

 

The same buyers also went on to pay 2100gns for another Bolton daughter, Richaven Bolton Squaw from Brownswood Holsetins,

 

Cows peaked at 1800gns for Twotims Shottle Airhead a third calver from R J Court and Sons, Banbury.
