Five heifers top £2000 at Bentham weekly sale

Bentham Auction’s weekly sale of newly calved dairy cattle, saw 5 heifers sell to an excess of £2000 from the 14 cattle forward for sale.

Topping the sale was ‘Witherslack SS Lola’ from David & Wayne Inman of Witherslack. 14 days calved and giving 28 kgs daily the hammer fell to local farmer, John Lawson of Bentham. Mark & Heather Atkinson of Quernmore achieved £2220 for ‘Wyredake Asterix Bettina 114’, 10 days calved and giving 28kgs daily, she was purchased by Stephen Johnston of Wetheral. ‘Berryholme Jupiter Jean’ from Francis & David Wright of Helsington was purchased by Martin Whitaker of Claham for £2200.
