Fountaines take Suffolk show commercial cattle title
Richard and Judy Fountaine took top place in the commercial cattle classes at Suffolk Show with their Limousin cross heifer Real Classy. She was born in November 2007.
But it was a default win following the disqualification of the original leader, Mike and Jean Dickens’ steer John Boy. This one had been tapped out as champion by David Wright, but was stripped of the title after clerical queries by the show office. John Boy was a substitute entry after another of the Dickens bullocks was unfit to travel. However, the decision to strip them of the title after originally allowing the beast into the classes left some showgoers baffled.
Picking up the reserve place, which had originally been filled by the Fountaine’s heifer, was Kevin Lugate with his entry Bungle.
